Should You Invest in Litecoin?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Clone of Bitcoin, that has been around for more than 5 years. Its consider the Silver of crypto as Gold is Bitcoin and its founder is Charlie Lee.

It's supposed to be faster and cheaper than bitcoin and focused more on smaller transactions.

Total coins will be 84 million and as of today is worth: 29 USD

In 2013, bitcoin gained +11,000% and litecoin gained +500% over the price of bitcoin during its peak. The price of LTC hit an all time high of around $50 on some exchanges.

The last major litecoin rally was during the summer of 2015, when a Chinese LTC Ponzi scheme managed to accumulate at least 20% of the entire supply. Most of that supply was instantly dumped and the LTC/BTC markets have been on a long bear trend since.

So Should you invest?

If the Bitcoin would hard-fork and end up with two coins, in that case I see the bright future for the Litecoin. Otherwise Bitcoin is my bet!

A Soft-Fork is inevitable for Bitcoin. I really don't believe there will be a Hard-Fork. If that was to occur though, Ethereum would then overtake Bitcoin as the number Crypto on the market.

I don't agree. Hard-fork doesn't mean that two coins will come out of it. When everyone agrees that 2MB are the necessity, there is no other way to implement them but to hard-fork, since blocks will no longer be compatible. But if everyone will run the same code eventually it will be a single chain again, since no one will run the old code with 1MB blocks.

I don't believe that the community would want a hard fork anyway.

I like the LITES and have added to them recently....

def a good coin are you invested?
And what you think about others like mooncoin for microopyments?! Very cheap now and a lot of potential imo... cheers

Interesting post. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. The quality coins are here to stay and it's like buying in at the S&P 500 50 years ago. Cryptos will fall and rise at a more rapit phase any investment market has ever seen. Just hold (literaly) and enjoy the ride. We do need to look better at the insights of every coin. What team is behind it, is there any management. How strong is the product, is there any product at all?
