There's too many issues with Ripple to overtake BTC

Centralized with 60% coins owned by Ripple owners
Ripple COULD freeze all coins if they chose to because they essentially control them...google it
Ripple has too many coins versus the 21 million ( minus about 4-6 million 'lost coins) that BTC has

Bitcoin is Gold 2.0 and the lightning network will solve a lot of issues it has. Bitcoin is here to stay at least for the next year.
