True, intentionally avoiding these new Ethereum blockchain coding issues, to keep some loyal friends who can't handle any critique regarding their preferred platform? As fair as I can be on their behalf, it does seem ALL these wallet based hacks involve a Social Engineered defect where the user likely bears ALL/most fault, rather than the platform coding itself, but I certainly have NO ETH coding experience!

Keep everything offline, I can recommend Ledger nano S, just had mine delivered a week ago.
If you keep your private keys on an offline pc or on Nano ledger S you can store different kinds of crypto-currency
