Ethereum (ETH) adalah platform terdesentralisasi yang bisa menjalankan smart kontract, yaitu aplikasi yang bisa berjalan sendiri sesuai pemrograman tanpa kemungkinan adanya downtime, sensor, penipuan ataupun gangguan dari pihak lain.

Sejarah ethereum

Etherium pertama kali dibuat oleh seorang pria keturunan rusia, yang bernama Vitalik Buterin, Dia seorang programmer dan juga penulis. Ethereum foundation adalah lembaga yang mengerjakan proyek ethereum, yang berlokasi di Swiss.
Pre sale pertama ethereum diluncurkan pada tahun 2014, yang di distribusikan kepada kontributor sebesar 60 juta ether, dan 12 juta digunakan untuk pengembangan. Secara resminya ethereum diluncurkan pada tanggal 30 juli 2015.
