You are so right: up until this point we have been living in an attention economy, where people are rewarded for what they create based on how much engagement it gets, even if it's not high quality content. With this technology & communities like steemit, we could begin to delve deeper into an idea economy, where we are incentivized to start re-thinking global issues/ problem solving at a whole new collaborative, incentivized, level that is ACTUALLY capable of making a difference.
