I am a physician and this gives me mixed feelings.
In many places, electronic health records have been a disaster that has made life more difficult for providers. I worry that block chain will add another layer of difficulty to the exam process. I am new to block chain technology and it has been an arduous pathway to explore. I shudder to think how much of a nightmare it can create in the daily process of documenting patient information.
On the other hand, I can see ways that block chain technology could make medical records more secure and accessible by the right people. It has the potential to make significant improvements.
I hope the companies working on these changes remember the importance of usability. The most amazing technology in the world is meaningless unless it has the ability to provide true usability.
totally agree with you!
It will certainly come across many obstacles. Just like someone trying to fix a broken system and the broken system throws wrenches in the works each time he makes a good move. It will be a hard battle but Blockchain has a great chance of winning. The gravy train will be over for the evil ones.
