Which cryptos will live on?
Over 1200 crypto coins & tokens, listed on Coinmarketcap.
With the top 10 assets claiming the vast majority of the value in crypto assets, this data leaves the big question of which coins and tokens are going to survive to long haul.
Simply put, a huge portion of the current crypto coins and tokens will not survive.
There are only 2 flavors of crypto which will be around in 10 years:
- Storage's of value - i.e Bitcoin as it is perceived at the moment.
- Assets with disruptive and/or breakthrough real world use cases - i.e Steem & the Steemit platform
This situation is comparable to the dot com boom in some ways. There will be crypto assets which will come out the other end of the current boom & continue to flourish into industry leading behemoths. E.g - Google & Amazon
The others? They will disappear into oblivion. End of story.
During the boom, the volatility remains a wonderful treat for traders.
Although investors need to pay close attention to the space. News in cryptoland can have a mega impact on coin & token prices, affecting markets hard and fast.
Coming out of the boom, we will see a revolutionised world as blockchain and crypto assets position into the everyday life of the world. But we must remain mindful that there are limitations to the wealth that can be created on the other side.
Where are the real profits at?
Value storage coins. Take Bitcoin as an example.
Bitcoin has proven to be a perfect example of how a value storage asset can in fact produce profit. Bitcoin doesn't need to work as a mainstream payment method, there are other crypto assets for that. But as long as people see Bitcoin as a safe place to store their money, Bitcoin's value will continue to increase. Supply and demand.
Similar to gold as it is today.
