Bitcoin versus all others. Someone please help me understand a few things.

To all those who know

How come Bitcoin is skyrocketing as such an incredibly swift speed but the other major cryptocurrencies are much slower to show such gains?

I understand that Bitcoin is limited compared to some of the others, its just the speed at which it is rising that has been incredulous to me.

And where does Gold fit in now? Gold seems to be pretty stable thus far. Though from reading a bit here and there people are expecting a rally by gold.

Thoughts?
