RE: Introducing David Hay. Plus "Will crypto and blockchain divide humanity"?

This is a debate that is far more complicated than just cryptocurrencies. Humanity gets divided on everything. You look at any liberating force, it will always end up dividing people. Look at how humanity fights over God, people that agree on what God's name is cannot agree on what God's plan is.

Politics and power end up mudding up the waters of everything. "By the dark side, clouded they become." -Sounds like something Yoda would say.

Crypto is a liberating force, but as long as there are current institutions of power at play, any new power dynamic that gets introduced can have an adverse affect. I think this is what you are looking at when you think that it could cause more damage than good.

I see these power dynamics as damaging to humanity as long as they exist and crypto as one way of weakening the current power structures. Whenever a power structure is threatened it will always exert its influence in an attempt to maintain power. Change is rarely silent.

The real question in my mind is not if crypto being introduced will cause damage, but if the change it will bring will be worth the damage caused. Of course, it is not actually crypto that will cause the damage... but rather the current power structure fighting to hold power that will cause the damage.

I hope that makes sense.
