Widespread Blockchain adoption - Obstacles
I started telling my dad about blockchain and cryptocurrencies a little while back, and he was immediately interested - he always liked new ideas and innovation. And you'll admit that while its quite strange among the elderly, open-mindedness, when it exists in them, makes the best type of old people.
So I had gotten him interested, and now I had to introduce him to it, and perhaps tell him as much as I could about it. I immediately realized that I may have bitten more than I could chew.
For instance, how could I explain to him that he needed a separate bitcoin and Ethereum wallets as well as a fiat gateway, and then different lectures on how to use the multitude of exchanges available today?
Imperfections of a perfect system
Cryptocurrencies are really all over the place, and widespread adoption is very much around the corner, with various currencies emerging everyday with real life applications and use cases. Indeed they are already reshaping the financial system, and sooner or later, everyone would have to use them to acquire a certain product or service.
It's simple. When placed side by side with traditional financial methods, cryptocurrencies are much more convenient. They're borderless, so they can be used anywhere in the world. They're fast and efficient. And through smart contracts, transactions don't need a middle man anymore. You're buying a product online?. A smart contract could just process the transaction and once payment has been made, you'll get your products. No mediation or interference.
But even with all of these advantages over traditional systems, widespread blockchain adoption is still taking longer than expected, and one of the key factors is that people aren't entirely comfortable with change. History has shown that even when a new thing is leaps and bounds better than an older one, people tend to stick to familiarity and routine, rather than innovation and
But let's say we're past there now. Even when people actually get interested in it, they find it difficult to properly get into it. Blockchain isn't the most favorable terrain for newcomers. Even tech-oriented individuals have to take some time to study it and get a grasp of the workings of blockchain, not to talk of common folk like you and I.
The truth is, you'll agree with me that the current cryptocurrency world has a hypothetical wall around it that a person has to scale before they can get properly acquainted with everything blockchain has to offer. This is an aggregation of many factors. For one the technology itself isn't easy to grasp. For another, it is still an emerging industry, so everyday, a supposedly innovative solution is brought forward.
This brings about a system whereby there are numerous cryptocurrencies, and extensive work has to go into managing them in their separate wallets, exchanging them in the numerous available exchanges, or utilizing them, according to their use cases.
The HOARD SOLUTION
Talking about new projects, there's one that aims to simplify these problems and make cryptocurrencies easy for everyone.
I'm going to tell you about the Hoard project.
The team behind the Hoard project has a vision to create a platform that is easy to use by everyone, and in so doing, make widespread blockchain adoption a viable reality. By removing the hypothetical wall surrounding the cryptocurrency sphere and integrating into one app,
For one, Hoard is the ultimate all one solution to the decentralized nature of the cryptocurrency space. Having to manage multiple wallets is tedious, and so is having to use multiple exchanges or trading platforms just to convert your cryptocurrencies. With Hoard, all of your crypto needs will be available within one app. Imagine one app that has the functionality of the binance app, the blockfolio app, kuCoin app, trust wallet, and all the information you can find on tradingview. Get ready to do something will all that free space you'll be getting on your phone or computer. 😄
By providing a secure bridge between cryptocurrency and fiat money transactions, it helps bring the two systems closer together, so that a shift from fiat to cryptocurrency is fluid and easy. It therefore will serve to catalyze the widespread implementation of cryptocurrency transactions, and also extend blockchain benefits to traditional financial services organizations.
The Hoard vision is to create a platform that is sophisticated and easy to use at the same time. For the cryptocurrency newbie, it'll feel like a welcoming platform that makes the learning process much easier. For the trading expert, it will feel like home, combining all the necessary features and information needed to keep tabs on one's investments.
Now I can tell you how the plan is to make blockchain interoperability a reality using the SMAUG PROTOCOL, but that is another really long story which you can easily read about in the Hoard official whitepaper https://s3.amazonaws.com/assets.hoardinvest.com/public/docs/Hoard+Whitepaper+Draft+v1.3.pdf
