Monero hit as high as $4.67 a coin today in market trading data from coinmarketcap.com. Observing charts from coinmarketcap.com shows that Monero is at all time highs at price per BTC and all time highs market cap as well.
Monero has always been one of my favorite alt coins to watch I have owned some and just recently I sold some of my Monero that I owned to buy more SP but now I might regret selling my Monero
.
Monero was designed to be an alternative to Bitcoin in that it has a limited supply it has the potential to replace Eth as the true alternative to BTC and possible surpass Eth with the recent loss in confidence in Eth since the Dao hack.
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Monero one day be as expensive as BTC. Monero even has a smaller current supply of coin then BTC with only 12,726,424 XMR. BTC currently has just over 15,000,000 coins in existence so far. Maybe I will buy back into XMR and make it part of my portfolio as it was before.

Well it kept going up almost hitting $7. If you think about Bitcoin serving the dark markets back in 2013, Bitcoin was up to about $100. Now, in 2016, with Monero becoming the de-facto DNM currency it makes sense that it could be similarly priced at some point in the future. $100 per Monero appears inevitable. It truly offers something that many people want, fungibility. What's that worth? We'll soon find out. IMO we'll see a Monero marketcap at or close to a Billion before too long.
