Oh my days.... big city trader I will never be.... I don't have the knowledge or the balls to be as successful as some of my fellow steemians!!! I certainly intend to add to it when I find some courage in my convictions Xxxx

you'll find your feet... buy ice-creams when they're cheap, sell them when it's hot ! best thing to do is research the different coins and find out what's behind the ticker ( XRP) is ripple's ticker BTC, LTC, etc.. if you think, hey that sounds like a great project that is going to change the world.. buy some before everyone else does.. that's the basics covered.

However, there are new ones coming out all the time ! They have CrowdSales to raise capital for the project and they publish a WhitePaper which explains the overview, how it will work, what the rewards are, if there's a profit share, etc.. (usually the money raised is in BTC or ETH) or similar or maybe USD$ ..you can buy into them at the ground floor price just like an IPO of company shares when they list on Stock Exchanges
