Probably a mix. I bought one based off looking at certain traits I thought looked cool but are also somewhat rare. Then I sorted by price and looked for one I liked the looks of in the range I wanted to spend.

I imagine some people only care about reselling so it's a game of economics for them. Others might just care about having the best looking kitten. Most are somehwhere in between I'd imagine.
