Cryptokitties lets you basically buy/trade/breed digital kittens stored on the blockchain so there is true ownership of them. You have to buy 1 or 2 to get started. They have various traits and some of those traits are very rare. You breed yours together or with other people and hope to get some rare traits. Then you can sell the rare kittens or charge people to breed with them.

Thanks for the information! :) Sounds kind of fun! Will people still like kitten if it is rare but doesn't look very good? I thought it was mostly about the aesthetics, but maybe it's a combination of both?
Probably a mix. I bought one based off looking at certain traits I thought looked cool but are also somewhat rare. Then I sorted by price and looked for one I liked the looks of in the range I wanted to spend.
I imagine some people only care about reselling so it's a game of economics for them. Others might just care about having the best looking kitten. Most are somehwhere in between I'd imagine.
