Crypto, blockchain, mining, and another buzz words are heard on the internet these days.
All of us are regret not buying bitcoin when it was equal to a few dollars, but really, no one is talking about another important subject - a new way of monetizing websites!
A NEW WAY OF MONETIZING
Think about it! until today, we are used to websites which include tons of advertisements, pop-ups and annoying banners - which definitely are not helping the user experience.
I'll give you an example - you and your girlfriend want to see some nice movie on the internet. You took a comfortable position on the sofa, and you just need to click the play button for playing the movie.
You did this mistake and clicked the cursed button, and then, BOOM - millions of pop-ups are jumping, you think that the end is coming, but you are not this type of person who will give up, you are trying to click the button again, but no movie are playing, just porn & stupid advertisements.
Now think about other situation:
You are entering a streaming-movies website, and you click the play button, as always, but now the difference is that the movie is shown. without any pop-ups, porn or any stupid ads. Why is that? because the website is mining coins via your computer, or in other words - he's using your processor for it. Actually, you are paying the content, however not with money, but with your computer power.
THE POSITIVE ASPECT
To be honest, I believe it can be an alternative to the ads and banners that we are used to.
Why do I think so? because of one main reason - Google is about to launch their new ad-blocker, so this way or that way, the websites must find new ways of monetizing for making their work profitable.
And when the most viral word these days is crypto, how can websites miss it?
THE NEGATIVE ASPECT
Yes, there is a negative aspect. and I'm sure each one of you knows what I'm talking about.
But if you didn't get it yet, it's simple - each website can use how many computer percentages he wants, so all the whole websites can use 100% of your computer, not a particularly nice situation, mainly because your computer will be hurt and you won't be able to surf on the internet (you will die from lags).
WHAT HAPPENING NOW?
Basically, most of the websites which use this way are illegal websites, because this is a crazy monetization way for it.
On one hand, it's very bad, because those websites are not noticing you that they are using your computer for mining, and they continue to show annoying ads.
On the other hand, it's good because maybe in that way, the big legit websites will understand that there is a place for a new way for monetization. The big question is - how the law should regulate this way and relationship between websites and their visitors?
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Do you think that this way is usable? will websites use it instead of ads and pop-ups?
I think that it's a little part of the coming future, the future of blockchain.
If I would have to choose between mining viruses and pop-ads , I would choose pop-ads, because most of us have decent software to block that ads. Well, we can't block the mining viruses. Yet....
Basically it's true, but I talk about the future - when we will be able to protect ourselves from mining viruses.
BTW - you can protect yourself from the most of the mining softwares, by downloading an extension which named 'NoCoin' for your chrome browser :)
I use Opera but also an extension to use Chrome plugins. So I will try that
I think 99% of steemians know more about cryptostuff than they want. It's the most discussed topic here, I believe.
Yeah...more than we even want :) that might be even true ... there is too many things to handle. It is all interesting stuff, but you got to learn slowly, otherwise you will hate cryptoworld for eternity :D And Steemit posts are mostly about that. When I say mostly , I estimate at around 25% of all posts
And that's accounting for over 60% spam and shitposts...
If you mean those short (up to 100 words) posts with deeper meaning "look at me, I'm a steemit trader, because I can tell you yesterday's statistics" plus few memes in the end? Than yes, that is a shitpost, and I would say you are pretty close with that number
And it's sad. I hate being right.

It is indeed a good way for revenue, that's for sure.
Interesting..
What if ads will die and Google will start mining bitcoin as first big company?
Wow, no dobut, it will be interesting to see it happen, and more interesting will be the response of the other ads companies for that action.
