Yeah patience is the biggest key to earning bigger in the cryptocurrency market. Just like you.. I too knew about mining but I feared joining the venture. There was a lot of theft through scums that I decided to keep away from anything relating to cryptocurrencies. I do regret this. I only had to do my own research instead of following other people that were discouraging us calling the whole market a scum. It would have been easy to choose where to best risk my money after doing my own research.
