RE: How Steemit Introduced Me To Cryptocurrency Investing And Opened Up A New World Of Possibilities

in #crypto8 years ago

Great stuff! I sold a few thousand Ark, but now I kind of wish I held on to them. I've never really gotten behind Ripple. I had some of their initial distribution but I ended up selling it a long time ago because it seemed like a centralized system to me. I'm hearing more recently that's not the case. What are your thoughts on that? As to PIVX... heck yeah. That one has done very well for me. I got my initial investment out along with some profit and I still have more thank 4k to play with. :)

Sort:

Ripple is more centrally controlled by the banking system it seems. Central banks are defeating the whole concept of a decentralized blockchain regarding Ripple but I wouldn't bet against them. It's kind of like sleeping with the enemy and yet the price is slowly rising as more major banks sign on. I'm just playing both sides of the coin.
PIVX just climbed from 1.53 yesterday to 1.80 this morning. Yea!

Yeah, I just post this morning about how my favorite currencies all did well last night.

Yeah, it's in banks' self interest to keep crypto centralized. If they don't they will go the way of Blockbuster video.

Agreed. That's why I bought some Ripple to and plan to hold it and see what happens. I don't like supporting central banks but still, I wouldn't bet against them. They do know a thing or two about finance and the fact that they are investing in blockchain technology shows the promise behind blockchain.
