Alex, have you checked out Latium? They are looking to put the 'gig economy' on the block chain so people can earn crypto for doing tasks (like my FB page, write a blog post for me, assassination, etc).

I think it (along with steemit blogging) will help those less crypto-saavy do things to earn crypto currency and get their feet wet, leading to greater adoption amongst the normal people who don't follow it like we do.
