$3 Billion Blockchain Tron Kicks Off Token Migration Today

Tron's migration process will be facilitated wholly by exchanges. The process commences on Thursday, and users will have until June 24 to deposit their ERC-20 TRX tokens to one of 30 participating exchanges.

Korean Government to invest 230 Billion Won in Blockchain Technology

On June 21st, Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT announced their Blockchain Technology Development Strategy. This strategy is meant to provide a total of 230 billion Won (~207M USD) to invest in the in development of blockchain technology. Their goal is to finish raising these funds by 2022.

Korean Government will support the development of BaaS (Blockchain as a Service) in order to foster businesses that specialize in blockchain. Afterward, it plans to provide about 10 BaaS purchase vouchers, which are vouchers guaranteeing government payments, to SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) per year.

Bitcoin Just Got a Shoutout in a New US Supreme Court Opinion

Sotomayor and Kagan, argues that the nature of what constitutes "money" is less rigid than the majority's interpretation, noting that "what we view as money has changed over time." That's a notable argument coming from the more conservatively minded Supreme Court, setting the stage for what is the first reference to bitcoin in a U.S. Supreme Court ruling.

"Moreover, what we view as money has changed over time. Cowrie shells once were such a medium but no longer are ... our currency originally included gold coins and bullion, but, after 1934, gold could not be used as a medium of exchange... [P]erhaps one day employees will be paid in bitcoin or some other type of cryptocurrency."
