scammed, not really. But like every other fork or airdrop the issuers hold a big part of the supply. Over time they can use this to control the market. Or say they cash out just enough that the market can hold the price reasonably. With such a big supply it's a way bigger pay than the effort they had to make the coin possible. Basically printing free money. Only way to loose money is by putting some in with trading.
