My Crypto Journey!

in #crypto7 years ago (edited)

My journey started Nov. 2nd 2017, like most I heard about Bitcoin and was thinking...hmmm I can make millions! Well I learned fast that is not how any of this works!

I started as a noob, a true noob! Minergate - Awesome miner - and various other single gui miners with just a single AMD RX 470 with stock settings. Fortunately, I found Pirl and a great community of miners! The one person that helped me grow the most and still is my inspiration, phatblinkie -cryptopools.info. You sir are a great person, period! A.K.A phat, as he is known in the Ethash community.

At this early stage I was mining using the Nicehash miner earning a little over $1 a day, if i remember correctly. That got solved really fast with the help of Bios modding and clock settings and took my earnings to almost $2 a day, I was hooked. At this time, I was all about some Bitcoin but phat talked me into mining Pirl and even running a Pirl pool for about 5 months, just for the experience, which lead to an Akroma pool. Both pools have since been shut down as the competition is just too fierce and I honestly was not able to compete.

In January of 2018 I finally dove into the deep end and purchased "The Rig" made a few little mistakes, even with my tech background, ended up frying 1 motherboard and a CPU. But, after some help I settled on a Z270-A motherboard and a G4400 intel CPU with 6 RX 570 and 1 RX 470. I have 1 RX 580 in my workstation and this gives me a total hashrate of about 230 Mh/s and I mine Akroma and Pirl. I spent the first part of January and Feb trying to grow my Pirl pool with giveaways of Pirl which did nothing but hurt my accumulation of coin, a mistake I will never make again! In March I heard about Akroma and given the Masternode amount was only 5000 coins I felt I could mine that in a reasonable time frame. Turns out with a little luck and some hodl I was able to get an Akroma Masternode while the Masternodes where still in Alpha stage.

I've mined a lot of coins during that time from Sia to Ethereum to Electroneum...you name it I probably have a coin or two of it and this was a mistake as well. I have found that it is best to stick to one, maybe two projects at the most and focus 100% until you accomplish your goal!

Speaking of goals here are mine.

  1. 2 Akroma Masternodes
  2. 1 GH/s of mining power before the end of 2018
  3. Pirl Masternode
  4. Earn $45000 a year in passive income, which is roughly 123 GPU's

Granted the market may change and GPU's could go the way of the dinosaurs, but I am willing to grow and change as well. The crypto market is still so new, there is no telling where we will be in 5 years. Either way, I am in this for the hodl!
