I just looked up on coinmarketcap, if there were any exceptions and there is one: Nem. So, I checked their system and one of its important features is the fact that the coins get distributed better, which means the likelihood of a big monopoly or big holders emerging is smaller. That's why the losses are smaller, because big sell-offs aren't possible and that's probably also the reason why it's in the plus despite the market losing massively.
