Digital currency operator Coinpayments and a large online retailer Shopify have entered into a partnership that will increase the opportunities for using cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for customers of the e-Commerce platform.
Support for payments in digital currency will be available to more than a million companies in more than 175 countries. The partnership between Shopify and CoinPayments will allow companies to accept payments in 1,800 cryptocurrencies with available commissions, according to a press release.
"By combining our easy-to-use global crypto payment platform with Shopify's extensive trading base, we look forward to providing an end — to-end process for anyone who wants to do business using cryptocurrencies," Coinpayments CEO Jason butcher commented on the agreement.
The partnership was preceded by the successful completion of the pilot program, which included testing the functionality and security of the platform with real transactions.
Cooperation between both organizations will help Shopif customers and eliminate the need to work with multiple processing services in different jurisdictions around the world. Previously, payments in cryptocurrencies were available in partnership with Coinbase Commerce, BitPay and GoCoin.
