How to Win the Fight of Bringing Privacy to Bitcoin, with Samourai Wallet

Of all the people you know who are involved in crypto… how many are still unaware of the reality that Bitcoin is not private?

Here at The Crypto Vigilante, we pride ourselves on being the only crypto research team that holds privacy as our number one value. Every recommendation from wallets, exchanges, best practices, and the crypto picks themselves are shared with the best interest of protecting our subscribers from the risks of financial voyeurism.

That said, this latest interview has me fired up! It is amazing to connect with OG Bitcoiners who simultaneously recognize the need for extreme capitalism and extreme privacy in crypto.

While many in the space will advocate that Bitcoin is great for extreme capitalism as a transparent ledger, those same advocates fail to recognize the projects that serve extreme privacy with an anonymous, untraceable, private ledger.

During the 2022 Guns N Bitcoin event, I asked this representative of Samourai Wallet, “Why are public figures like Andreas Antonopoulos, Mark Moss, and Tone Vays lying to their followers?”

He shared, “All they care about is number go up at any cost. What we care about is censorship resistant tools and sovereignty.”

Samourai have succeeded at just that. They have been going strong since 2015, entirely self funded, with operational redundancy, and no intention of going anywhere.

Unlike the influencers above, Samourai recognized the transparent nature of Bitcoin and have built a time tested software wallet to help make your BTC transactions as private as possible.

To learn the full scope of how the wallet works, I recommend hearing what he has to say.

During our conversation, we discussed Wasabi as a prime example of the centralized coercion that can result from projects that do not operate with privacy at their core.

While Wasabi claims to have the best Bitcoin Privacy Tech, they continued to blacklist suspecting users instead of a FOSS approach of building better tech to surpass the threat of bad actors.

Samourai Wallet is not perfect, but they are pretty badass. Not only does the wallet have a myriad of privacy tools, no required KYC, and offline storage, but it gets better.

Samourai shared, “We see Monero (XMR) as a great tool in the toolbox for privacy and sovereignty. At some point in the near future you will be able to atomic swap between Bitcoin and Monero.”

The ramifications of this are beyond exciting as the ability for Bitcoin users to freely and efficiently move their BTC to XMR is becoming more seamless than ever before.

They suggest the best way to start using Samourai Wallet is to download it on their website.

I highly recommend watching this full interview for an inside look behind the mind of Samourai and learning how you can use this tool to increase your operational security into the future.
