Hi Steemit!
I wanted to shine a spotlight on an interesting project I recently got into called Fetch AI. Remember, nothing here should be construed in any way as a solicitation or recommendation to buy or sell anything whatsoever. I am just sharing this project and disclosing my involvement. Here is the website: https://fetch.ai
The project is essentially a decentralized marketplace for AI services. It's intention is the have autonomous economic agents interact to create a thinking network run from the ground up as the sum of its parts. There are several different kinds of these entities who can all serve different purposes. Overall, the aim is to gather real-time data and use it as the fuel for the digital entities to perform various functions. They can then communicate with one another, rate one another's services and trustworthiness and essentially live in a virtual space that overlaps with real space.
The use cases here are very interesting and they already have some potential applications for transportation and energy, among other things. For example, it could help self-driving cars coordinate routes and charging stations to avoid traffic jams and lineups, etc. The primary budgetary expense is on capturing the brightest minds in artificial intelligence and machine learning and to date boasts an impressive roster of team and partnerships.
The current FET tokens (ERC20) are available on Binance. You can use them to participate in the TestNet and see how the DAPPs work. The main net is supposed to be rolled out towards the end of 2019 with full functionality at which point the ERC20's will be swapped for a mainnet token required for all network functions. I picked my tokens up for around $0.19USD.
The whitepaper is very detailed and sets out a compelling vision along with all the moving parts to achieve it. I suggest looking at the whitepaper and token paper for detailed information as there is way too much to include in this summary. I am getting involved with Fetch simply because I think artificial intelligence is going to be among the most disruptive technologies earth has ever witnessed - it may very well change the fundamental character of human civilization. This will also be enabled by internet of things technologies connected by 5G speeds.
I am also excited to use the DAPP when it gets up and running with full capacity. You can build and program your own agents or use the services they can provide. What this could look like - I'm just starting to really imagine. But I definitely find it very interesting and exciting.
What do you think of Fetch.AI? Would you consider using artificial intelligences in your own life? Do you think there is a market?
The future is coming fast and I am already rolling out the red carpet...
