It was probably the best time for a group of cryptocurrency fans to take a break from the recent crypto bloodbath, to go on a cruise to mingle with fellow crypto millionaires, exchange notes on upcoming opportunities, listen to the gurus pontificate and gloat over Lambo dreams.
The blockchain cruise, into it's second year, was organised by Coinsbank. Here are the key metrics:
- More than 600 guests from all over the world
- More than 100 media representatives
- More than 50 speakers - some notable ones like John McAfee
- 2 conference days with 3 simultaneous tracks for guests to choose from
The cruise ship, MS Mariner of the Seas, operated by the Royal Caribbean Cruise line, set sail on 15 January 2018 from Singapore. Most of the guests were young men - hence the reference to bros - who had invested early before the crypto bubble formed and continue to be hodlers and extremely wealthy - at least on paper.
The 5-day cruise made port calls at Phuket, Thailand and Penang, Malaysia.

- The future of Ethereum

Feedback from attendees was good. Apart from the networking and enlightenment from the speakers, there were many opportunities for attendees to party and relax.
Perhaps a cruise could be an interesting idea for Steemfest3?
