Which Cryptocurrencies are overvalued? Which are undervalued?

While bitcoin retracted some 2.2% in the last hour, many Altcoins are seeing positive sentiment. This is an expected bull run just before Christmas, as investors stock up on their favorite coins before they go off on holidays.

So, which Altcoins have been overbought and are now overvalued, and what can we expect to cheapen over Christmas?

  1. Cardano - 26 billion coins, no significant developments on the platform. Cardano is heavily overvalued at the moment, not having yet proven itself. Holding 6th place, having jumped over IOTA in just the last 24 hours, and reaching a high of US$0.5656 last night, it's been making surreal gains since it's debut. I think there is more than enough hype to keep this coin above US$0.30 indefinitely, even though it's true value is somewhere around USD$0.17.

  2. Ripple - 38.7 billion coins, and currently valued at USD$1.00. Who even uses this technology? The big banks have their own blockchain solutions for international payments, so who is actually using this tech? And the answer is, hardly anyone (doesn't even appear on blocktivity.info). So why the huge market cap and overvalued tokens? Because investors see Ripple as a more legitimate cryptocurrency, since it is linked with the big banking cartel. I wouldn't pay more than US$0.25 a token., and even this I believe would be overvalued.

  3. Verge - a great crypto focusing on privacy. Promoted by Hive mining 'new' coins, followed by heavy tradebot activity, this crypto has shot up way past its valuation, and should see a 50% correction before the year's end.

  4. Dent - another new currency, hyped up by Hive, and shooting over 600% gains over a day of trading. This little beauty is ready for a halving of its price in just the next few days.

  5. TRON - there is no fancy news for this coin to have jumped 800% in value. It's just another pump and dump now. Expect big corrections for TRON in the coming week.

  6. Digital Note - a double-rebranded crypto with no new tech. It's value has been hyped by it's apparent "established newcomer" status, but not really offering anything that's not already out there. It's current market capitalization is not representative of it's adoption and use by the public.

.

Here are some cryptos that I think are still a bit undervalued:

  1. Monero - released their multi-sig wallet yesterday, and intend to implement better privacy tech when it becomes available.

  1. Skycoin - a super-fast, super private coin, from the team that is building a new internet. already at all time highs, but still expected to double next year. They've just opened a Bitcoin trading market for Skycoin.

  2. VeChain (has has a good run so far, as had I predicted in my previous post), still has some more upward momentum, currently at US$1.60. WaBi and Walton chain with almost identical technology are still greatly undervalued and should see better performance than VeChain in the coming weeks.

  1. EOS - people haven't yet 'discovered' just how valuable these tokens are. Anyone's guess really. This digital real estate token is currently at US$8.80 (this price is set daily through the ICO distribution mechanism, and deviates slightly due to day trading activities). I think EOS tokens will hit US$30 when the final version of the platform launches on the 1st of June, 2018. And this is a conservative valuation.

Looks like VeChain and Skycoin are finally seeing their valuations come to life.
