I think it could be a red flag, or Poloniex is doing it to protect their clients. If anyone finds out that a full audit is done(if that is the requirement), some people may pull out due to the "assumed security" is not their any longer?

They don't exactly have a track record of honesty. So I would always assume the worst with them.
