RE: At what point do you consider 'speeding' to be breaking the law on a residential street with 30 mph speed limit?

I answered
5 mph over the speed limit

At 30 mph somewhere between 7-14% of pedestrians will be killed by a collision with a car. At 40 mph that jumps to 30-50% depending on the age of the pedestrian. Speed limits are there for a reason. No where you have to be is important enough to take someone else's life.
