West Indies always had a legacy of extremely talented players, ViV Richards, Brian Lara,Gary Sobers,Malcolm Marshall, Jeff dujon, Haynes, Greenidge are a few among them but that stream of talents is drying up since last decade or so, can consider Chris Gayle is the only player who has the calibre to consider among those stalwarts but he was out of the team due to various reasons,
I believe there is a dispute is going on for a while between their cricket board and players and players backing out from matches is usual phenomena and to teach them a lesson, board opts for the player who may not be equivalent of the players who backed out, so this strife might be hampering the prospect of West Indies cricket, the solution is amicable settlement between players and boards, either board must give more for players or if their financial strength doesn't support then should convincingly convey it to the players and should select the top class players,
Like winning loosing is also a habit, when the latter becomes a habit it is hard to over turn, In West Indian countries cricket is deep rooted more than even India and Pakistan, only thing needs to be done is to find the Gem of the players from grass root level, polish and nurture their talent, place them to the team and grow them into the stature of erstwhile league of players and in due course West Indies cricket can draft a come back..
