RE: How to keep yourself in the creative flow? A short list of simple tips.

in #creativity8 years ago (edited)

"Terminate every distraction without mercy!" And switching mediums frequently is wonderful advice. If I was on the richlist, I'd be able to give you more with my vote. I love your list. What a beautiful job.
My usual method these days: I start my day with Steemit, then drop into Slack app, then check my email, go into Twitter where I check out @ned's stream for cool Steemit stories to retweet, then I share Steemit on Linkedin, next i go to Facebook, specifically 3 places: Choose Yourself FB group, Steemit Users, and my own professional page. If I'm really productive, I will have written 2 Steemit posts, and also will publish those posts within Facebook, Linkedin and Medium.
I am, as you can tell a media whore.
Honestly though, if you must know my secret weapon of creativity it is this: I tend to obsess over one song/music video and for days on end, that is the only thing I will listen to. The zone it creates is amazing. Right now, I've been listening to this track, Daniel by Bat For Lashes for at least 4 days in a row.

I've probably listened/watched it over 200 times. That's how I write a ton in a short time. Some days I can write 4 articles. Of course I start my day at 6 am and don't quit until around 1 am.

thx for the music

Great feedback. That is already priceless! Coins are nice but people are a source of infinite value .
Still tweaking the process and balancing other responsibilities so your tips are more the welcome.
Repeating the same song over and over is also something I do hehe. The honesty in the Steem community is very inspiring, it feels like the early internet all over again but this time we get it right from the start. I try to introduce as much people as possible so everybody becomes a participant.
