Marvel Trading Cards + Antique Coffee Table

Should We Keep It Or Ditch It?

When I was nine I bought a big binder and filled it with Marvel cards. They were my priced possession, and my favorite the Marvel Masterpieces, 1993.

As I grew up, i left the gray binder at my parents and sort of forgot about the cards. 24 years past. One day I found them. I checked on line - they're not worth anything significant - so I prepared myself to throw them out.

But then I remembered the old coffee table my wife and I had. It used to have a marble top, but that broke. So we replaced it with a pane of glass, but had nothing to put under the glass.

An idea struck me.

We laid out the cards on the table and secured them each with a rolled up piece of painters tape for easy removal if we don't like it in the future.

Then after the entire tables surface was covered - we placed down the glass. The results:

What do you think?! I am a child at heart and love it! My wife is sort of on board but has reservations. The overall consensus amongst friends has been mixed. So we want your opinions.

Keep It Or Ditch It?!

Sort:

Are you crazy? Thats is one of the coolest thinga i've seen. Not only ahould you keep it, i would like to see you make som more. This is sefinitely a proect i'm interested to try with my tables at home.

That's my position! But I'm working on a team over here! So far so good though. Meanwhile the underlying idea is really fun and easy to replicate - these cards are cheap on the internet

Such a cool card collection! Upvoted!

Thanks! Trying to put it to some use instead of throwing it out.

It's cool, I like it. However, Happy wife, happy life. I say pick your battles you must win, and win those, let her win the rest :)

Yeah - end of the day if she says it goes, it goes - but i may do something similar to my desk in that case. Fingers cross

Whatever the wife wants. Likely ditch.

Keep it!!

At least another year or 2.

I am firmly on the keep it side - but my wife'smother may be pretty firmly against - but I'm going to keep a tally of online votes as support for "objective value" ;)

Keep it. in a few more years paper and actual real card will be hard to find let alone cool printed cards with superhero's on them.
If your wife says no, then at least make an auction on Steemit or as you suggest, move the cards to your desk. You win, and wife wins too.

Ohhh a steemit auction - thats an interesting idea

Definitely keep it :)

The keeps have it so far.

It is super cool, although I will be honest that I wouldn't want it as my centerpiece for my living room or office. Definitely more of a basement / spare room kind of thing, for my taste. BUT, if you think it's rad, and your wife is down, that's what matters.

Yeah i think that may be whats shes butting up against - it may end up lacquered onto my desk.

I am solidly on the keep it bandwagon. If nothing else, it would make a killer computer desktop or some other re-purposed item!

The more "keeps" the better for me!
