Pedestrian Deaths are surging in the US, Is Trump to Blame?

in #crash6 years ago (edited)

There is no evidence President Trump is the source of the increase in pedestrian deaths. Michael Cohen did allude to this yesterday during testimony in congress but this can be discounted as hearsay until someone says otherwise.

Seriously though, put the phone down and drive as if you do not own the road. You Don't.

Pedestrian Deaths are surging in the US

The number of people dying on foot from car crashes hit a three-decade high in the U.S. last year, with 6,227 pedestrian deaths. A decade-long surge in fatalities has accompanied the rise in popularity of sport utility vehicles and light trucks, which cause greater injury than cars, and of smartphone use by both drivers and pedestrians. Alcohol, too, has been heavily implicated in deaths after dark. States that have seen the biggest increases are:
  • Arizona
  • California
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Texas
