As many of you already know with the recent BitConnect scandal Craig Grant among others were held accountable and mired as scammers, it seems that the pressure of all the mounting law suits and general criticism is getting to Craig as he posted the below statement on Steemit a few days ago.

It seems that Craig is somewhat remorseful with the following statements:

Will not be blogging here as I know I'll get flagged, with good reason.

and

If you want me to power down and leave steemit, I will, but I need a few months to pass before I start making moves like that.

I bear no ill feelings towards Craig and am surprised at how far reaching the ostracisation has become but as the old saying goes c'est la vie.

What do you guys think, has this gone too far or not far enough?

Thanks for reading and if you found this interesting consider upvoting, following and resteeming.

These guys knowingly scammed people - admittedly, people who should have known better - but that doesn't make it ok. In fact, to scam someone naive enough to fall for this scam is even worse. Taking advantage of desperate or ignorant people who were trusting their advice is pretty low.

It blows my mind that some people are supportive of this kind of behaviour. Crazy.

Honestly i feel like it's going too far with all of them (Trevon James, CryptoNick & CG). Reason being: sure they were promoting affiliate links for BitConnect but at the same time EVERYONE knew what BitConnect was. It was a sinking ship the moment it set sail. If you even spent 5 minutes reading up on BitConnect, you'd realize that these guys were not making big money from lending, it was from the referrals. I never invested in bitconnect but i'm pretty sure anyone making 6 figures from making youtube videos & dropping a referral link in the description would do the same. It goes right back to the age-old saying; "Never invest more than you can afford to lose".

Well said i think a lot of people are just going through the 5 stages of grief.

Indeed, i completely understand the frustration to an extent because money was involved. I just don't understand how someone could invest everything into something like BitConnect and then be surprised when it gets shut down. Granted, people only saw dollar signs and whatnot but it just doesn't make much sense to me. I feel bad for the people that really didn't know any better. The ones that were thinking they're going to get rich because of the news promoting cryptocurrency. However, the people that actually follow crypto and simply got greedy, i don't feel sorry for them (they knew better). Trevon was a CG puppet anyways, and i think CryptoNick was just a kid with too much time and money on his hands to stop doing it.

There was most definitely a lot of greed involved, why somebody would remortgage their home i don't know...
