Health Update 24

in #coronavirus5 years ago

No signs of unusual illness yet.

I've been breathing passably all day today. I've actually started to enjoy doing breathing exercises too. I did end up leaving my house, but I didn't have to go into any stores personally thanks to a great friend. Someone also gifted me some masks today, including one of the elusive N95 masks. I didn't ask for them, but now I've got them so I'll use them when I need to go out. They're all probably much more effective than the cloth bandana I've been using.

I've been mentally alright. I've been staying occupied. I did some sculpting and making sure the garden doesn't dry out. That last one's been easy with the rain we've been having. I also put in some programming work on text-based adventure game that @digi3d is making. That was fun and light; I enjoyed it. My major in college was game programming, but most of the stuff I've developed since then has been mathematical or functional rather than for entertainment.

That's all been nice, but on the other hand I'm very concerned about what I see out in the world. More and more I hear about advocacy for ending social distancing guidelines, or reopening gathering places. Just the other day I saw a restaurant dining area packed with a few dozen people, probably because it is the only place around with an open lobby. Nothing significant has really changed though. We don't have any revolutionary treatment or mass testing and case numbers aren't falling off. It's simply that economic conditions are becoming less convenient.

I hope that there aren't any more epidemic waves, but I'm not optimistic. There's to much science denial, smokescreen politicking, and issue deflection for me to be.

The way I see it, we must deal with the pandemic problem directly instead of being distracted by peripheral issues and tribalism. Anything else will fail.

If it happens that there are more it will be because we allow it.

Thanks for Reading!

Oh and this still seems unnoticed somehow...

I have had problems with breathing for a long time and I have never gotten use to the breathing exercises so I'm glad to see you are getting more use to them.

So glad you are enjoying working with me on the game, your code is very very good. Still looking over it and going to work on it more tomorrow (I'm going to fork your version and continue on). Keep up the exercises, keep up your motivation, keep up your hope. I hope your recovery & health gets better.
