How we learn and impart concepts to others to a certain extant has been known for thousands of years. Until only a few hundred years ago only a small percentage of the elite had a good grasp of the process. Not only was that knowledge held under tight control but until the invention of the modern moveable type printing press, only the elite could afford a book. Much of the elite before the printing press couldn't read or write anyway.
Just as the moveable type press reduced the cost of spreading knowledge in Europe in the 15th Century, the internet and computer has reduced the cost so much that a large percentage of the world population has low cost information available.
The Catholic Church became alarmed when someone had the gall to translate the Bible into English and worse, later print and sell hundreds of copies so people who previously relied on the Church to verbally translate the Bible into local language could understand ALL of the Bible for themselves. It was an earth shattering change from being ignorant and relying on other to tell you ( sometimes falsely) what was in the Bible to be able, if you had enough education, to read your local language and see for yourself.
Fast forward to the present - the understanding of learning and how to influence peoples minds has now become a sophisticated science and in most cultures omnipresent. It is a know fact that the more you repeat something, whether true or false, people tend to believe it is true. If you combine the television, computer screen, I Pad, with radio and print media it is easy to understand the omnipresence of mass constant information. Unfortunately the powerful owners of the mass communications networks have an agenda and it is very often not benevolent for the masses. The increasing cacophony of tainted information being inserted into our minds through this repetition is producing a mass hysteria centered around fear and greed and we assume our thoughts are legitimate, even righteous.
When people start restating the latest one liner current news factoid or short concept using the same words as the mass information feed, you can bet their minds have been brain washed into adopting those concepts as factual without any careful examination. Usually one very emotional person is singled out to relate a heart rending tale to relate on the most basic human level of the legitimacy of what the owners of the media or government want you to believe and adopt as your own. If you receive the information over and over again anyone who contradicts that belief is immediately dismissed as nuts, uncaring or downright dangerous. This is why people are shouting at each other more and more and resorting to violence over words.
Who benefits from the rising chaos and discord. Follow the money and power. When people have their minds controlled and opinions set in stone there is no room for compromise or examination of facts. The greatest tool known to man to control another is fear. That concept has been known before the written word. It is perfected and used to induce you to give up your own power to others who promise to bring you safety.
It is unfortunate that most of us live in our own kind of Disney World where everything is well laid out and orderly. The problem is Disney World is only a facade with no substance behind it. Disney World is a trick of the mind just as what we often perceive reality is. To cement the trick in your mind certain information has been hidden behind the haze and noise of a hurried life though sound bights and images. Who will dare examine the dark side and the light of knowledge with critical thinking? If you won't go there the only thing possible is more of the same including expanding wars.
