A Favorite Freewrite You Read contest runs every Tuesday for just 24 hours. You need to read some freewrites written (you can read this post to see what they are), and then comment on the contest posts about which ones you liked best and why. If they choose your comment you win units of SBI.

The FreeWrite House We-Writes kick it off every Monday with a new prompt. Just complete the story with a five minute free write (or longer if you choose) and you could win 5 SBI shares.
@bananafish
Finish the Story Contest was founded by @f3nix and is run by him and the Bananafish Paladins via the @bananafish account which now hosts the contest that runs every Friday. He posts the beginning of a story, and you finish it. Then you post your complete story for everyone to read. One of the prizes is SBI units. The important thing to know about this contest is that it's an ongoing creativity workshop, so if you miss one deadline you can participate in the next.
Mizu No Oto is founded on the belief that every image has a haiku. It’s an @bananafish contest curated by @marcoriccardi, a real haijin (haiku poet) and it's a great occasion to learn this form of poetry. It runs twice monthly, once in English and once in Spanish.
Tell a Story to Me is a contest started by @calluna, who being potassium minded, brought it over to the BananaFish Realms. Tell a story following the prompt to win some cool prizes!
Easy SBI Contest
The ‘Easy SBI contest’ requires only a single comment (of any nature) to be in the draw. The winner is drawn at random the following day.
Paying it Forward
In the spirit of helping new Steemians, this contest focuses on curating great content and is run by @pifc. It runs weekly on Mondays and asks that you find two "High Quality Original Content Blog Posts" to recommend for curation. Four judges decide which recommendations were the best and multiple winners get SBI units. Follow @pifc to see the latest contest post and read it for full details.
Thank you economy
Every week you can visit the Thank You Economy contest and tag someone who has helped you. When you do, both of you could win SBI units from the ever growing prize pool!

Millions of years after the ancestors of humans evolved to lose their tails, a research team at Japan’s Keio University have built a robotic one they say could help unsteady elderly people keep their balance.
Dubbed Arque, the grey one-meter device mimics tails such as those of cheetahs and other animals used to keep their balance while running and climbing, according to the Keio team.
“The tail keeps balance like a pendulum,” said Junichi Nabeshima, a graduate student and researcher at the university’s Embodied Media Project, displaying the robotic tail attached to his waist with a harness.
“When a human tilts their body one way, the tail moves in the opposite direction.”
As Japan greys it is leading the industrial world in seeking ways to keep its ageing population mobile and productive.
While other nations have turned to immigrant workers to replenish a shrinking workforce, less welcoming Japan has focused more on a technological solution.
The robotic tail, which uses four artificial muscles and compressed air to move in eight directions, will remain in the lab for now, however, as researchers look for ways to make it more flexible, Nabeshima said.
Apart from helping the elderly get around, the team are also looking at industrial applications for the artificial appendage, such as a balance aid for warehouse workers carrying heavy loads.
“I think it would be nice to incorporate this further developed prosthetic tail into daily life, when one seeks a little more help balancing,” Nabeshima said.
