Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.

Contests, Giveaways and Raffles!

I’ve been making this contest list for a long time now, and I’ve noticed a trend I want to share with you. In the #contest channel on the @steembasicincome Discord server there are more and more contests that run only 24 hours. Sometimes less. These don’t get included on the list here because they’ll likely end before many people see them. That would be disappointing to any of you who wanted to enter, then discovered they were already done.

The solution for this is to check out the channel for yourself! We do our best to keep it clean so the only posts in there are contests. It’s worth your time to look if you’re interested in winning more SBI shares!

Quite a few industrious Steemians run contests regularly. Here is a list of the ones we know about at the moment. All of these have been running for months so you can count on their posted schedule.

@bananafish

Mizu No Oto is founded on the belief that every image has a haiku. It’s an @bananafish contest curated by @marcoriccardi, a real haijin (haiku poet) and it's a great occasion to learn this form of poetry. It runs twice monthly, once in English and once in Spanish.

Easy SBI Contest

The ‘Easy SBI contest’ requires you to leave a link to your best post.
(within payout window at the time of comment). SBI shares will be awarded to the authors of posts which I thought was the most interesting and valuable to the Steem ecosystem.The winner is drawn at random each week.

@freewritehouse

The folks over at @freewritehouse run three contests each week. All of them are designed to encourage community engagement and highlight other's work. Besides the prizes from the @freewritehouse account, they are always interested in hearing from anyone who will sponsor a contest and so they can offer even bigger prizes.

A Favorite Freewrite You Read contest runs every Tuesday for just 24 hours. You need to read some freewrites written (you can read this post to see what they are), and then comment on the contest posts about which ones you liked best and why. If they choose your comment you win units of SBI.

Recommend your Favorite Freewrite Poem is a poetry version of the Favorite Freewrite contest and it runs every Friday. Make a comment about a freewrite poem you loved and you could win SBI units. But be quick! When Friday is over, so is the contest - until the next week that is.

The FreeWrite House We-Writes kick it off every Monday with a new prompt. Just complete the story with a five minute free write (or longer if you choose) and you could win 5 SBI shares.

Paying it Forward

In the spirit of helping new Steemians, this contest focuses on curating great content and is run by @pifc. It runs weekly on Mondays and asks that you find two "High Quality Original Content Blog Posts" to recommend for curation. Four judges decide which recommendations were the best and multiple winners get SBI units. Follow @pifc to see the latest contest post and read it for full details.

Punday Monday

Steemexplorer’s Daily

@steemexplorers is a project operated by @jonnyla08 and the “Monsters Madness Giveaways” team which aims to consistently help others find resources to improve their Steemit user experiences, network with other community members and achieving personal growth. We hope to be a central source of information and guidance for all Steemians. Steemexplorers has some exciting projects in the works. Lyric Poetry Contest

With the contest using the prompt, the poet will show with his verbal expression illustrate a deep feeling, a reflection, a state of the spirit, as experiential and aesthetic manifestations.

Wednesday Walk

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of and share a post on a Wednesday with the #wednesdaywalk tag for a chance to receive SBI.

Pirate Sunday

Come help tell the adventures of Captain K, a fictional character with a quite a history! To enter, read the current post and previous stories, then write your own version of what “piratey” things he gets up to next.

How to get on the recurring contest list

Do you run a regular contest that you’d like to see in our recurring contest section? We have some simple criteria you need to have to be included:

• SBI units must be part of the prizes given out.
• Contest needs to be running (with SBI prizes awarded) for 5 weeks or 10 contests on a consistent schedule, whichever comes first.
• Meet Contest King’s no upvote, no resteem, and no follow conditions.

If you think your contest qualifies let us know in the comments or on our Discord channel and we’ll check it out.

Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 unit in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

The official currency for enrollment is STEEM. If we choose to accept SBD without refunding it, you do not receive extra value for it. Enrollments are processed automatically every 144 minutes.
