RE: The Deadpost Initiative - Week 38 - Share your most undervalued work ($15 STEEM rewards last week)

in #contest7 years ago

What a wonderful idea! I admit that my first posts weren't very good, but there were a few that I wonder if no one saw given my "newness". Then again, maybe they just weren't very good. I guess we will find out! :)

I hear ya! My first posts weren't that good but it was through different initiatives that I pulled up my socks and started putting more into my posts. I like this initiative to get recognition on some of are dead posts and your post definitely needs some recognition. It is a good post in my opinion and although I don't take the plant intelligence to such depths I know it is there but I don't classify them as a sentient being and feel they are more effected by the humans around them. Also I feel that our morality effects our environment and the plants within it. Low morality and you have a weakened, sickened environment.

Thank you for the feedback, @Porters. Without a doubt, plants are affected by the humans around them, then again, so are we humans. Our moods and experiences change based on who and what is around us, same as plants. This is actually one of the pieces of evidence supporting plant sentience. If they were not aware of their environment--the base definition of consciousness--then they would not be affected by the environment around them. :)

good point

Very interesting, informative and well written post. I have read how trees in a forest can communicate information to each other about their environment. I find the whole idea of plant intelligence and the research you are doing fascinating. I enjoyed reading this and am now following you. :)

Thank you so much! If you search for Suzanne Simard, you will find lots of information about plant communication in the forest. There are others, but she is the most prolific writer and most stimulating in her discoveries.

Beyond Simard, there are so many others doing incredible research around plant intelligence. Every day there is a new discovery, which I love! If you have any questions or would like me to write about something specific, please let me know. I sometimes get overwhelmed by the options and end up staring at the screen wondering what to write.

You are very welcome! :)Thank you for the info, I will look into her work. I will also go back and read some of your other posts and see if I can come up with a good question for you to answer.

Great! Following you now, as well. Looking forward to getting to know your posts.
