Inlaws are not fans of the Medical Purpose behind why i was growing. They were thinking that I was just in to sell to kids down the street, not knowing that I was growing for their daughter, my wife.
It's very hard to introduce new information to folks. Especially when it was/is surrounded with such insane propaganda. Just try to present evidence, studies, pics of cute little kids that are surviving because of the plant. They'll either change or not, but ultimately, you can only do what you can do. Good luck!
