The vision of a Fair Society that combines equality, equity and reciprocity in every part of our society represents a moral foundation that could undergird a broad, many-faceted agenda of cultural changes and political reforms. The key to achieving this goal will be to build a broad political movement that is dedicated to making it happen. We know such a goal is attainable. As a nation, we saw great progress toward fairness during the New Deal era and after World War Two. Today we can point to a number of other, mostly European societies that are much closer to the goal of a fair society.
