Want to win some SBD?

I'm building a long-term savings account for my sons, and buy a bit of crypto each week! I try to diversify it as much as possible, but the yunk of choices is overwhelming, and that's where you come in!
This contest is simple. Suggest any cryptocurrency for me to buy and hold for my sons. The winner gets 50% of the liquid payout for this post, and the other 50% buys the cryptocurrency suggested by the winner(s)!

The rules have changed a bit, so make sure to read them:

  • Suggest a cryptocurrency that hasn't been suggested this round. (There will be a list below once people have begun to offer suggestions)
  • Upvote this post and at least one other person's suggestion

One point will be awarded for every upvote on your comment from other participants. (Getting in early can increase your odds of winning, because everyone has to vote on at least one other suggestion.) One extra point if you explain why you suggested what you did. (This excludes votes from bots or other auto-votes that appear from third parties. I can only award real engagement.)

Resteeming this post will earn you one point, even if you don't suggest something, though I will upvote your comment if you do, which would give you two points total, but Resteeming is no longer required to participate.

One extra point if you provide a meaningful reply to someone's comment. I will be the judge of "meaningful". No "great comment" replies...

The winner will be the steemian with the most points when this post pays out. Participation has been somewhat yunkable, but a few rounds back, I awarded 6 SBD to the winner! I'd love to push the limit, and break that record! Help me do that by upvoting this post to increase the reward pot, and help build my sons' savings so they can go to college all thanks to steemit!

I'd recommend minereum. It is a self mining coin that is basically god among coins. Ever wished for a coin that has big pumps like those low volume coins but at the same time has a long term stability too? That's minereum for ya. In a month i saw it go from 20¢ to $10~ . Luckily during recent crashes the price fell down to ~$1. Now it is selling at 2.69$. i'd recommend you to wait for the next market crash and accumulate as many mne as you can

I will add your suggestion to the list, and give you an extra point for explaining, but cannot award you points for all the auto-votes you got from the esteem app. This would make it incredibly unfair to others who are participating and receiving organic engagement.

I understand. Wasn't my intention. You can subtract the 8 votes I got through esteem or all the votes if you wish 🙂

You're way good 😃 Go you for earning a bit extra for participating 😉

I'll figure it up when I tally points at the end of the week.

Can someone explain the autovotes to me? I short blog asking why this happened, and ironically received what must have been autovotes, but no one answered my question. Thank you to anyone who can explain it!

Sometimes when you use certain third parties like the esteem app to post or comment, you'll get a few votes come in from people who have bots set up

Thank you, so these bots are not able to automatically upvote on the regular steemit platform?

They can, they just have to be set up to do so. I know the esteem app has accounts set to auto-vote on anything posted from there, but they also take a 5% cut of your earnings...

I appreciate that you have taken the time to respond and answer my questions so far. You are one of the users that help make this platform so valuable.

I have a few more questions if you or any other knowledgeable persons would be willing to explain or point me in the direction of any related information.

In your opinion, do these bots a positive or negative overall effect on the platform?

Could it be a good idea to separate the bot voting from individual user voting with another indication?

Personally, I like the value added by these bots, but I also tend to value a person's vote over a bot's from a fundamentals point of view.

I know this comment got kind of long, but I am just trying to get a better understanding of how the entire platform works. So please feel free to correct me on any incorrect or possibly dumb comments I have made here.

Antshares, because it's staking. But you have to put it in the right wallet. Then in a few years, you will have more ans than you started with, and hopefully each antshare will be worth more! Hope things have been good yo

The last month has been interesting to say the least. Baby Vincent has been a drain on my wallet and my mental health :D He's beautiful, and I love him, but jesus do I need him to grow up just a bit so he can tell me what the hell is wrong, lol.

An extra point to you for explaining your suggestion!

Overall I completely agree with you. I like their management team, and how quickly they seem to be able to address problems.

But, I do think it is very important to keep in mind that the bulk of the Antshares market is in China. This is important for 2 main reasons:

  1. China has a massive population, so if Antshares catches on in China, the growth could be explosive

  2. The chinese government is unpredictable, and could decide to outlaw antshares in China. This could slow growth considerably

Yes! This is exactly what I was hoping to accomplish by adding that bonus in, getting conversations started! One extra point to you!

Grid Coin. Extremely low market cap so there is huge room for growth. Its backed up by real science computing work (BOINC- Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) instead of wasting power crunching numbers that don't mean anything. Check it out, its an amazing oppurtunity and the price is right while the markets are down.

I love Gridcoin! I have BOINC on my home pc helping SETI and the LHC! I'll get you on the list, and if you win, I'll buy more Gridcoin!

Great explanation! One extra point!

If you have BOINC setup already then you should setup a grid coin wallet and link the accounts. No reason not to earn Gridcoin's for your contributed BOINC work. Also if you buy more Gridcoins you can add them to your wallet and earn interest in addition to allowing you to stake your earned Gridcoins quicker too. I am setting up a long term savings plan for my two young daughters myself :) I ReSteemed this, best of luck!

Oh. I do 😉

Gridcoin is what lead me to BOINC! I've got about $7 worth from previous rounds of this contest 😃

Thanks for the resteem! You'll be credited an extra point!

sorry to say but sciences more of less costs and is not generating money, it is more a value transfer, where capital goes in know-how so for grid coin i don´t see increase of coin price anytime

I'd recommend IOTA. They are working on this project for a few years now and avoided to make some noise. They are doing really great work so far.

Awesome! Thanks for participating! I'll get you added to the list.

One extra point for explaining your suggestion!

When I heard of IOTA I thought: "This could be the next Big Thing". There is room for blockchainless and 'no fees' types of cryptocurrencies like IOTA and RaiBlocks. But it is in an early stage we will see what the future brings.

Nice contest. Your son is going to be rich! and you as well ;)

@mrcryptoman is bullish on Digibyte. I recently sold it for a profit, but it has upside potential and whenever I get more SBD I'll probably buy back in. Its cheap.

Good deal! I'll get you added to the list of suggestions. Remember to upvote at least one other person's suggestion to be fully entered.

One extra point for explaining your suggestion!

Byteball! Literally u can have BTC linked to get free byteball, not to mention having byteball to get more byteball! Quite valuable already, and u'll still maintain your btc, look it up

I'll definitely do that! Thanks for participating! I'll get you added to the list, and you'll get an extra point for explaining your suggestion!

Literally, for linking byteball to get more byteball, all u need to do is have it in your byteball wallet! It's as simple as that. For every gbyte(what it's called on the exchange) u get .2 byteball, which is actually quite alot. Linking BTC requires u to go through the bot process, it's quite simple.

Also, a follow up. I plan on making a how to link byteball address for steemit.

Nice that sounds damn good. Can you tell me or send me a link where I can see how to link BTC to get free Byteball. Thanks :)

Sure thing guy! I'll be making a byteball article shortly.

I'd recommend NEM. It is really taking off in Japan. Some of the banks over there are looking at using it. Also, all the coins have already been produced so you do not need to worry about future coin production diluting the value of your coin holdings. It has super fast transaction times as well.

Great suggestion! One extra point to you!

@thatsweeneyguy Hey buddy! Nice content. I dropped into this profile by chance but
I upvoted and followed you since you truly deserve it !

check out my profile and upvote and follow, too. fetmom - real estate investor and donator!

GNT -I love the idea of GNT and I think it will become an incredibly valuable tool for personal and private use in the next 2-5 years. I am also impressed by their management team. They have a clearly defined plan for how to grow and develop their platform over the next several years. Most of the time I have found that alt-coins struggle to clearly define their purpose and platform in a way that the general public can understand. This is ** not** the case with GNT. So overall, I just really like the fundamental values and realistic timeline for growth that GNT has presented. It also doesnt hurt that they are built off of the Marketing Powerhouse Etherium blockchain.

Very well explained! I'll get you added to the list, and you'll get an extra point for explaining!

I'd recommend ChainCoin (CHC) http://www.chaincoin.org/ It's backed by a holding community of a lot people but what I like the most is that you can get a masternode for only 1000 coins it will make a monthly income. Okay thats it from me have a nice day :)

Thanks for your suggestion! One extra point for your explanation!

You are welcome and thanks for the point :)

i recommend Stratis its an C# + .Net Framework based wallet from UK company with some use cases of blockchain in medical business. furthermore it offers proof of stake where over the long run your funds will grow (no mining in this blockchain!) rgds Arno

Great suggestion and explanation! I'll add you to the list, and you'll get an extra point!
