Judging
I and @verbal-d have judged all the entries based on originality, creativity, and clever-wittiness
Announcing The Winners!
Honourable Mention # 1:
@Gil-gal’s
"The Struggle"
A human spirit
Wont be broken easily
Its made of pure hope.
We enjoyed this inspiring and hopeful entry, reminding us to never give up...Congrats
Honourable Mention # 2:
@Pamela-paul’s
"Cold Of Death"
The winds came whistling,
biting across my bare back
with stings of cruel cold...
This was a really frigid and elemental entry that gives poetic frostbite...... Congrats
3rd Place:
2 STEEM
@Readthis'
”Strong”
Keep your spirit up.
Like the mountain that rises,
strong and powerful.
This was a strong and immovable entry, such as mountains are and spirits as well... Congrats.
2nd Place:
3 STEEM
@Themadrunnah's
”Too Late”
Rotted like they were
The fallen leaves of past years
What love can they hold
We really enjoyed this poetic and deeply reflective entry, it is reminiscent and wise.......Congrats.
There were so many great entries that we had to pick two first place winners. Please enjoy their winning Haiku poems below.
1st Place:
3 STEEM
@diebitch's
”Untitled”
Ninety-nine problems
Counting syllables ain't one
Haiku police, Run!
This was a very funny Haiku, with a good sense of lighthearted humor and image. You certainly know how to write winning Haikus!.... Congrats.
1st Place:
3 STEEM
@Lyxng's
”The Unnamed”
Day and night, she weeps
For the unused little clothes --
And the tiny grave.
This was a touching, sad and really well written poem that evokes true human emotion and compassion... Congrats.
Thank you to all the participants who made this contest a success. This week, we had so many amazing entries and it was very hard for us to judge. We had a lot of fun reading them all and deciding the winners. Everyone gave their best effort and they were all great poems, however please make sure that you check your syllables and words before you enter and submit your entry. There were some great entries that would have won but they were not a Haiku. Don’t worry, I will be introducing in the next post the tool which I use to count syllables anc correct my own Haikus. Thanks again.
I will be posting the next contest "Week 15” in the very next post today. If you didn't win this week, then you have another chance to take the top 3 spots in Week 15. Best of luck to you all, and thanks again in making Haikus Great Again.
This contest is now sponsored by @verbal-d and the lovely and kind @soldier, and they support good projects, want to strengthen our community, and give back to our poets. We are grateful for their contribution and commitment to us.

Peace and greetings... from @Moonleesteem
Nice haikus everybody!
Am I confused, or was 1st place a tie, or am I seeing things?
Hi you saw it right... we have two winners this week.
One to make you sad, with feelings... and one that was funny and smart, in Hip-hop style.
Two great winners.
Thank you for supporting us
Oh nice, good to have two to balance the feels out. :D
Exactly 😎
Thanks @moonleesteem and thanks @verbal-d. I'll leave this at that.
Yay! My 2 favourites won!
1 for a laugh and 1 for a cry,
isn't that what life is about?
There's nothing ungrateful
about staying true to yourself 🤗
Your haikus would make great Renga . You're awesome. Lot of love.
🖤
Congrats on your win, but your lack of gratitude is distasteful.
Hi! I'm sorry if you don't get that some people hide behind humor if they are shy. Please try to understand it's difficult for some people to accept victory and express themselves
No need to be sorry, I just don't understand how saying a simple "thank you" is something that even a shy person cannot Type. But thanks for entering, best of success on Steemit.
Just wanted to clear the air, I made a haiku (spent time on it)as an extension of the winning one as a mark of gratitude, but having read that I can see how it could be perceived in bad taste by someone who doesn't know me. I'm truly thankful to you for running a contest, I know it's difficult, having run 2 on my own.
I highly appreciate your explanation. Thank you very much for clearing the air. Yes, running a contest is not easy at all, I also judge officially for the Steemit Open Mic Contest hosted by @luzcypher and we go through nearly 500 entries, and @luzcypher does a great amount of work to have reached his 70th week of hosting, I don't know how he manages, but it is worth every moment because giving back is a great thing for our community. Glad to know you understand, and thanks again for your thanks. Much appreciated. I too have a sense of humour don't worry.
Congrats as well @diebitch, please do enjoy your prize rewards, but being cheeky is not needed.
Thank you @moonleesteem! 😁 And congratulations to all the winners! Yay!
Your welcome... enjoy your win.
Haikus are here to stay...
Congratulations on tying up first! Well deserved win!
