Unsung Steemit Fiction: Readers Contest. Win SBD for reading steemit fiction!!!

To celebrate hitting the milestone of 600 followers I am holding a small contest.

I wanted this contest to be a little bit different. I want to celebrate our community of fiction writers AND (more importantly) fiction readers.

To win SBD I want you to tell me what your favourite fictional post of the week is.

But this is the twist: it can not be one that you wrote. I want you to tell me about the fictional post that someone else wrote and why they deserve to win.

What is at stake?

The person who wrote the winning fictional post (the writer) will receive 1SBD

The person who nominated the winning fictional post (the Reader, i.e. YOU) will receive 1SBD plus all the SBD earned from this post (that’s right I am rewarding the Reader of the post more than the writer - without readers us writers are worth nothing!).

I will also upvote all valid nominations in the comments section of this post.

Rules:

  • NO SUCKING UP: Do not nominate me. Even if you think my fiction rocks (raises hat, “I thank you!”) I am not eligible to win.

  • Only nominate a post that is fiction and is written by the person who posted it.

  • Only nominate a post that has been published in the last 14 days (I know I am stretching the definition of the word “week”. I write fiction, I reserve the right to take liberties with words).

  • Please don’t nominate any post with a payout of over 5$ (at the time of nomination)- this contest is about boosting the unsung fiction heroes

  • You must post a link to the fiction post you nominate and you must give me a valid reason why you are nominating it (please use at least 50 words to explain why). Either post this directly in the comments section of this post or write a post about your selection, and post the link in the comments section of this post.

  • Don’t nominate your own work. The post you nominate must have been written and posted by someone else

  • You may only nominate ONE post

  • Please leave a comment on the nominated post explaining you have nominated it for Unsung Steemit Fiction Readers Contest, and why - it is nice for the writer to know that their work has been selected by you.

  • I decide who wins, no disputes. I will make my mind up mostly based on the reason given for the nomination, but the content of the post itself will also be counted.

  • No need to upvote this post, no need to resteem. But I would appreciate the support (and the Readers reward increases with the post payout).

Thanks all!

Happy reading everyone!

Here is my entry.
This is a post by @xpency I appreciate it alot because of the Following reasons.
With no biase but this is a story that helps me realate with events happening in nothern Nigeria which has been torn with and by voilence from the a dreaded islamic jihadists and painting a vivid picture of what travellers are likely to meet really got to me.

Also the fact that the character in the story was tempted to make the trip because of his helplessness.

The action in the story was breath taking and really got me hooked.

And i sincerly hope he wins because i think he deserves it.

Thank you so much for the nomination. I've just read the story and wow! You have just introduced me to a great writer (who I am now following) so thank you for that too. Tip!

I am happy you liked it, i follow his stories alot and i appreciate them.

I nominate @victoria-kelly and here is a link to her recent post:
https://steemit.com/fiction/@victoria-kelly/diary-of-a-detectress-episode-12-trailing-a-blaze

I have been a homeschooling, homesteading mom of 4 for over 10 years and during that time have read very little for pleasure. I am constantly researching recipes for a child with insane allergies, or other necessary skills on the homestead, but I used to read voraciously before the responsibilities of motherhood. I say that because through Steemit I've discovered through a few writers a small luxury. When I first read @victoria-kelly's work, I was immediately drawn in. In fact, I was so involved that I found myself sneaking onto my phone during schooltime with the kiddos to try to catch up on her previous chapters!

I commented that she should join a group so she could get more eyes on her work. She replied that she was:

...wrapped up in the writing journey and any views and upvotes are sort of a bonus.

Well, if I can help get eyes on her work, then I'm going to try because I am really thoroughly enjoying her writing so far. Thank you for offering me an opportunity to help a talented writer!

Thanks for the nomination, and the fabulous explanation as to why you have nominated her! I will go and check her out. Thank you so much! :)

A fun (yet suspenseful) weekend freewrite: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@abyni/dress-to-kill-weekend-freewrite-abyni-always

@abyni has literally avoided creative writing her entire life (even in school, she chose other avenues.) She just decided to follow her mother's advice and just TRY a freewrite out of sheer boredom over Christmas break.

When I saw what she'd written, even for her first try 2 1/2 months ago, I was blown away. Seriously, for someone who thought there was no way she could ever write something... I thought it was really impressive. I'd like for her to continue to get acknowledged in this fledgling gift she has so that she continues to feel confident in her writing... AND I realize that I'm biased, but I think she is really REALLY quite good. She has a morbid side in her writing (don't know where she gets that), but I think she does really well at getting a good plot going, even in the shorter freewrites. This story in particulate is a weekend freewrite and I think she really excels in those. The whole story was unexpected, the details and suspense were awesome. Knowing that she sat and wrote this in 15 minutes and this is the story that came out? I think it's worth a prize :)

Thanks byn! Could you write at least 50 words to tell me why you think it deserves to win? (you know me and rules ;) ) Thank you! :)

Oh my WORD, I am so awful. I wanted to make sure I didn't forget about this, so I thought I just left the tab open because I was so tired when I saw it (am I the only one who always has at least 50 tabs open for 'later'???)

Anyway, yes... I'll edit the original comment. :/

You are not awful! Lol! You obviously needed the sleep! X

Also, thanks to the times listed on these replies, I see that I slept wayyyyyyyy too long last night. :/ Thanks @felt.buzz and steemit for making me aware of my super lazy morning...

https://steemit.com/fiction/@markrmorrisjr/the-wishmonger-episode-42-links-to-previous-episodes

I nominated him because I'm really amazed by his ability to write a fictional story with a lot of episodes! That's amazing you know? in just 30 minutes he can finish his 1 episode. And one more thing he is so kind and generous besides from his talent. He also wants to help a minnows like me :)

Thank you so much for the nomination! I went and read the story and enjoyed it too! I am going to have to start from the beginning. Thanks :)

Yeah! He is cool right!? Haha @markrmorrisjr is awesome!

Yes, he is a great writer, and all round nice chap. :)

Hello, How can I know or where Can I see the winner of this contest>?

Have you read all the chapters? ^_^

I want to nominate @honeydue for her story Vivacious baby (weekend freewrite)

I don't always get time to read her stories but when I do I know I'm always in for a huge treat and this story once again holds true. She has a way of writing that pulls you in and makes you read faster and faster to see how it's going to end. Her stories, many times, have darkness to them but she tells her stories in such a way they make you think so to me that is always a sign of a great story.

Great contest @felt.buzz. :D

Thanks snook for your nomination! I enjoyed that story too! :)

Nice contest!
My choice goes to:
https://steemit.com/freewrite/@whatisnew/weekend-freewrite-3-10-2018-3-prompts-father-o-brien-s-funeral
It's an extremely entertaining tale, it made me laugh heartily and I think it's written in a simple but effective way. It is not easy to put together a story that is consistent and has the right pace following the subsequent three prompts of a freewrite weekend. The only two times I tried it, I had to struggle a lot. That's why I think @whatisnew did a good job and deserves my nomination.

Thanks for the nomination! I'd missed that one, too, so I was glad you gave me the chance to read it :)

This is such an awesome idea, @felt.buzz! Excellent ;) You're right, readers are under-appreciated I believe, among all these writing contest.

Yes, there's really not much point writing, if no one reads it! :)

That's an interesting niche contest! I won't participate in the contest because I became more entrenched in reality than I used to be, but the least I could do was to add my shrinked full upvote to the post's rewards. Good luck to the participants!

Thank you for your upvote (shrinked or not!). I hope reality treats you ok. I heard it can be a pretty grim place to visit! ;)

Lol, yep, reality can be grim at times! :)

@moneyinfant has added your contest to the list Steemit Writing Contests: Issue #44. The list is updated on a daily basis and your contest will remain on the list until its expiration - there's nothing you need to do.

The list was created to save writers the excessive amount of time spent searching through the #contest tag for writing contests. Now they can just come to the list each day, see new contests and use their time doing what they love - writing.

If you'd like to help spread the word about the Steemit Writing Contest List I'd really appreciate a resteem, but it certainly isn't necessary. The project is simply meant to help writers save time and contest creators attract more contestants.

P.S. If you know of any contests I've missed I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!

I wonder if this will be enough to lead people to actually read posts :D

Let's hope so! That is certainly what I am hoping for! :)

Congratulations on your milestone @felt.buzz and thanks for having this fun contest. And thank you @marcoriccardi for your nomination! I am excited to read the other stories. : )

I'll do some reading tomorrow as I didn't have much time to go over other posts these past few days.

Lol! You never know! ;)

Edit: sorry @marie-jay I thought I had posted this comment as a response to creepyturtle's comment. I hope you get to do some reading and hope to have a recommendation/nomination from you!

I think this is an excellent idea!!!

Thank you. Have you seen the first nomination? I've just read the story, so great because I've been introduced to a new writer! So thrilled :)

What a story!! our life is so easy compared to those realities!!!

Follow, I follow back, let's support each other 😊

I don't follow spammers. You left the same comment on 10 posts in 5 minutes after this one. I follow people who interact not spam

It's okey

No, it isn't. Stop spamming

Yeah this guy is spamming everyone.
Look at this!

How he has a rep of 55 is beyond me. I guess everything is for sale
