Hello fellow steemians, I welcome you to my blog today. I hope you’re doing great. Today, I am organizing my first ever steemit contest. It’s aim is to give back to the steemit community for the support I have received so far, especially, being a member of the Steemit School has inspired me a lot and I want to put in my best to succeed here.
Why This Contest?
The idea of this competition is to help newbies and minnows find their footing on steemit. I am a steemian with a strong passion to support newbies and minnows on steemit. There are many minnows who put in so much effort, post blogs with quality content yet with little visibility and low payout. This could be discouraging and you might be tempted to quit steemit, but I’m here to encourage you by giving you free SBD so you can be inspired. Steemit is a journey and I bet you you won’t get to the top in one day. It would take you courage, determination, persistence and commitment to achieve your dreams here. There are many wonderful people with good hearts to support your growth, and I encourage you to find such people and make friends with them.
Because of that, I decided to organize this contest to support. And I will encourage you to
keep an eye on more contests to come from me.

@evarich,I want to say a big thank you for this support and live you are showing to newbies. May you remain blessed in Jesus name.
Here is my entry for this contest.
I have learnt 3 major lessons in steemit to be able to achieve excellently.
1. FOLLOW
The number of people you are following determines how many persons respond or reply to your post apart from belonging to a group that can be of help. You built your relationships with them via comment and am taking it as second point
2. COMMENT
Like i said in point above, your comment opens doors for you to learn and gain alot. I could remember the first time a whale upvote my comment on a friend's blog. That upvote gave me $1.26 and that is the person of @surpassinggoogle. I was so excited and felt like screeming that night. So, comment is like a chain that brings brings you closer to unkonwn and unseen beneficial people. So, i keep on preaching on it. The more you comment on people's blog,the more your chance of intimacy and benefit derived from steemit.
3. UPVOTE
At a time when i joined new, i thought until 100 persons upvote my post,then i will get like $20-$50. I didnt know it doesnt work like that. So later on,i discovered that it is not the number of upvote that really count but that it is the voting power,the steem power and reputation of kind of person that matters. If a whale could upvote my post at 100% ,you know what is going to be earned on that post.
the most important among them all is making a comment. This has helped me alot.
The community i belong to is @euronation founded by @eurogee. Join the telegram group to enjoy the uncompromised benefit with me through this link https://t.me/joinchat/HsUnkEtkR5BXDFGOBUIiPw
Thanks.
Hello @merkky-eu, thanks for participating in this contest. Your entry has been noted. It would be reviewed according to the rules.
Remember the top 3 contestants with highest upvotes on their comment would be considered as semi-finalist, and then final selection of winner done. So you need upvotes on your comment.
Best wishes
Hi dear, good luck
Thanks for the opportunity to participate.
My most useful lesson learnt on Steemit so far was from a post by @phelimit . Link here : https://steemit.com/steem/@phelimint/so-it-s-your-first-day-on-steemit-where-to-start
It's the 3rd piece of advice, COMMENT! His advice was to comment 20+ times daily on posts you're interested in as a form of interacting and getting to know people and is a way finding your niche.
I must admit, 20+ comments a day has been difficult so far. I read and comment as much as I can daily. As well as giving an upvote, though my vote doesn't really carry much power now.
It was also stated that you shouldn't wait till you have a following of about 300 before you start blogging. Blog whenever you feel inspired or ready! Another great piece of advice.
For other newbies like myself, the post by @phelimit has been helpful to an unimaginable degree. Check it out. I hope it would be as helpful to you as it was to me.
I belong to a number of discord groups. But this is the first one I joined https://discord.gg/etsvZT

This is a great initiative and I must commend @evarich for this, God bless you real good.
I joined steemit through a friend as I have explained here. The first group I joined was @genesis-project on whatsapp where I interacted with @ewuoso and @pangoli.
@ewuoso told me:
It encouraged me to be serious and work hard.
This spurred me and I got lucky to have good upvotes on my first posts. I can remember how many nights I stay awake just to research deeply about Steemit. I organised two successful meetups and I was able to bring in 6 people.
@pangoli told me:
I joined other community and made good friends that has helped me tremendously. I comment on people's post just to make friends with them.
Steemit is a community and we must protect, guide and encourage it's growth so we can all enjoy all its benefits.
Thanks to @antigenx - he has once blessed my post with an upvote and I followed his blog immediately to read quality posts. God bless you too.

Thanks @evarich for this opportunity
For me the most useful is to interact with the community, steemit can be frustrating and so lonely for a minor and newbie
Interactions here comes in so many forms, so don't limit your options, join a WhatsApp group, telegram, discord channel, attend face to face meet ups, regularly comment on the post of others. Make your comments open ended so more interactions can take place and friendship built, interacting bings you followers cause you are seen and heard more and oh yes it is also rewarding as you can get your comments upvoted and resteemed.
I have practised all of the above and it has made steeming more fun I joined a WhatsApp group
https://chat.whatsapp.com/9NnIYCS4B2l8rbLBgO37Xa and when I was able to get the discord app I found an amazing group, a family.

@asepers is a great group too to learn from https://discord.gg/vs6NQQ
Word count ::::150
