Hey there! I'm new to these contests, but I've been on steemit for about 2 months. I post about gaming, crypto, and other things that catch my fancy. For my strangest place, it would have to be the Maid Cafe Maidreamin in Akihabara. We were at one six Maidreamin in Akihabara, and they had others all over Tokyo and Japan. This one was on the 6th floor of this building, and the only way to reach it was via an elevator on the side of the building.

Once inside, your senses are assaulted by this sickeningly saccharine atmosphere. It's cute, cranked to 11.

The food was, eh... It wasn't completely disgusting. It was edible. But boy, was it overpriced...

The draw is the servers, who wear these really frilly outfits and talk overly cutesy in everything they do. And they force you to play along. No self respecting person would ever do this in their right mind! Take friends and watch their embarrassment.

I did get one photo with my server, though. I don't think she was expecting a tall がいじん standing over her from behind...

This was also our first day in Tokyo. Can you see the jet lag in my eyes?
