It's "Kwek-Kwek," my favorite street food and yes, indeed is very popular and locally found in our country/city. Kwek-kwek are hard-boiled quail eggs coated in an orange batter which are then deep-fried until crispy. Best dipped into a sweet and sour sauce. But for me, I find it more delicious in a spicy vinegar dip. I then remember my childhood days when my aunt and I usually visits Antipolo Pilgrimage every month of May and we always buy "itlog ng pugo" (quail eggs) sold inside the bus going to Antipolo. I just eat it and dip it on salt while on our trip. Anyways, did you know that they also have this thing called "Tokneneng?" It only differs from Kwek-kwek through the egg size, a much bigger Kwek-kwek that is....
