I was a little late in discovering music. It wasn’t until I got a cell phone with an FM Radio that I was really able to get into music. I must’ve been 14 at the time. Before that point, I really just listened to whatever I could, whenever I could. By 2008, I was able to start listening to more music. I started to hear this interesting song on the radio every so often. I was fascinated by it. The song sounded very catchy with its guitars and rhythm. The name of this song is called, “Closer” by Ne-Yo. Released in 2008 as part of Ne-Yo’s Year of the Gentleman album, the song sounded ahead of its time. This is the song that got me into the Rhythm and Blues genre of music. I started to study it, and that’s when I discovered more about artists such as Next, R Kelly, Ginuwine, Joe, Blackstreet, Tyrese, Monica, Avant, Usher, Jon B, Brian Mcknight, and many more.
