Warning! Long comment ahead.

Haven't read the comments here and I'm a bit scared to, because last time I brought this up on my own blog, I got a few of the men's rights activist crowd descending on me (which itself is part of the answer to that question). Of course, as soon as I started throwing statistics and sources out there as well as anecdotal experience, they went suspiciously silent. Anyway.

There's a saying among groups that promote equal representation of women and minorities in media: If she can see it, she can be it. When young girls are not exposed to people who look like them pursuing certain fields, and that is repeated over and over again during their formative years, it sends a subconscious message that pursuing that line of work is not feminine and something that girls just shouldn't do because boys won't like you. Furthermore, just look on Reddit, 4Chan, or even certain corners of Steemit, and you'll see that there is a lot of hostility toward women who are seen as "invading" traditionally male spaces. There's still a lot of deeply embedded sexism in which men look at women as just being good for sex (or even obligated to give sex--look at the incel movement, it's awful). On the internet, it's a thousand times worse because people feel free to show their ugliest sides that are the least acceptable to show in public, with little negative feedback, because they find like-minded insular communities of people who share those beliefs. Last time I looked on Alexa, Steemit was about 80% male. The corners of this site that I hang out in tend to be much closer to 50/50, but the bigger crypto-related communities are certainly predominantly male.

Speaking anecdotally, when I was a kid in the mid-90s, I was really into computers. I stayed home and took apart and put computers back together during the weekends. I was the first of my friends to have the internet, and that was during the wild west when websites were just starting to become dynamic. I taught myself how to program in C++ and PHP early in high school. I suffered a lot of sexual and verbal harassment as a small child, before I even knew what many of those words meant, because I was almost always the only girl in chat rooms, and because I had a female voice playing video games. It was really bad, and it wore me down. Over time I just gave up the hobby, and ended up doing something totally different in college. Maybe if I was born 20 years later and I saw other women around that I could have looked to as role models, I would have been more inclined to stick with it. Can't say either way.

My wife works in internet advertising and most of her team are female. Women seem underrepresented in programming, but they are well represented in other tech jobs.

They have found that the achievements of girls and boys in STEM subjects are very similar. The data show that in two out of three countries, girls do the same, or better than boys in science.

haloo guru.. ini saya masih kenakan..

This isn't true about Africans or specifically Nigerians. I'm a tech guy and I have more female programmers and techie as friends than their male counterparts.

Also, ladies are emerging in the field worldwide.

we do business here attract customers so that all profitable ..

I think you should add prizes and winning slots ..

tak ada upaya itu..

apakah benar yang anda katakan tadi,,??

Don't just join a field because you feel it needs more representation for insert whatever you are here,,.

I have a suggestion for you, tomorrow make a topic about their selfie photos ..haha

The best contest of all time

Researchers have found that countries known for their gender equality, such as Norway, Sweden and Finland, have fewer women among STEM graduates, while socially conservative countries such as Turkey, Albania and Algeria have a percentage a much higher female in STEM. They call this "paradox of gender equality."

regardless of economic factors. In contrast, high-paying STEM careers may seem more attractive to women in countries with lower economic stability.

New On this Contest . Its an Amazing Idea to Giveaway to your followers and upvoter .. really fun .. thanks

We conduct experiments based on behavioral economic games," in which people choose partners (other participants) for interaction and make choices in these interactions, "Lindström said.

Because more girls expect a definite for the future

You have to work to pursue a career, the girl is synonymous with indulgence because the girl wants to achieve a dream that she can achieve

Girls should not work because girls should always look beautiful in front of men

Spoiled girls are not told to work because girls must be guarded not in force

Spoiled girls are not told
To work because girls must be
Guarded not in force

Maybe it's because he's not good at it so he's not so focused on that field

If a woman wants to work it is good because she can already be independent

Great Contest by @bunnypuncher
Thanks for that.
And my answer is here :

In our country,The women's have not yet fully equality like mens.

I think that is the major problems for the Girls pursuing careers in Computing and Tech Fields.

This is a complex question that is being researched heavily. The research so far is ruling out differences in innate ability. So, what's left has to be social.

Today will mostly be an opinion based piece as others have been in the past. Ice had many classes through out my time with people I'd all walks of life. The network class I took cones to mind where I passed out during the final in the class woke up with 30 minutes to go finished my test in 15 minutes and left the class. Up to that point I was at a grade of 96%. So I'm not as dumb as I look. After the test I ended up with a 95 in the class. The second person to me in that class had a 76 I forgot who specifically the person was and the class was fairly divided on races and genders. No I'm not done outstanding technical person. The class was just easy. Also I don't think anyone in that class had an aptitude for technology. So from personal experience even with a low or growing number of woman in the field. One thing is important. Don't just join a field because you feel it needs more representation for insert whatever you are here. Enter that field because you love what you can do in it and love what you do. Be a better you not something you'll turn it to dislike.

Because she (the girl) does not want to have a job like that, so she does not take it seriously for her

Why Aren’t More Girls Pursuing Careers in Computing and Tech Fields?

Maybe they are too young for the job perhaps. Please GIRLS

I think because of trust, what the patriarchal mind set is not making on her. I do have many friends that are perusing their careers computer science and related fields and are successful too.
Parents and Gardians must put their trust on her to make her more encourageous, though females sometimes too chose the services sector to work for their own convenience.

But i want to you make clear now a days girls are pusuing themselves in every field of work whether its tech and computing..

This is true. But they seem under represented in tech fields or so I've read. But, I'm learning alot frrom these great answers.

Why aren't more girls pursuing careers in computer science and technology?
I think it is a cultural question, society in general tends to visualize the girl-woman as the one who should take care of the home, the children, fashion and even worse, someone who should only think about how to be beautiful, even if it means putting her life in danger with the use of chemicals, with operations whose risk is very high for her life, all for the sake of banal beauty.
Women's liberation has not really translated into women's empowerment in the field of technology, not to mention the many barriers that still exist in this area for girls.

Because they are not creative enough to work in.

Just making sure.... you're joking, right?

Yeah. Just for fun.
Truth is that Girls have no left no field undominated.

The number drops to 39 percent when both science and interest abilities in subjects are taken into account.

Shunning, or social exclusion, is considered a deliberate method of punishing unpleasant, awkward, or unwanted members in a group. For example, if someone is seen as riding or bothering, they may be excluded from different circles or social events.

Stop asking how to get what you want, because the answer you find is TRYING

In this situation, exclusion occurs accidentally, and those who make exceptions are unaware of their actions.

"In the same gender-equitable countries, people (women and men) have more choices than in other countries," David Geary, Professor of Psychology at the University of Missouri College of Arts and Sciences, told The University Network ( TUN). "In countries where we find fewer women get a bachelor's degree in engineering and computer science, which is the focus of our study."

Like a poison, pride will only kill us slowly, but surely.

etc this is becoz not only they want to indulge themselves in these fields but also their fanily and social support..

saya suka dengan hal ini oke.. oke..

Being old is for sure. Being an adult is an option.
