in #contest7 years ago

in my idea , you shouldn't Fight with depression , but you must chase the happiness , the more you fight it you will get involved with depression more,, the more you chase the little things for happiness , it will grows and shine more , i try to do that , because some nights i want to fight it im not the winner , just talk with a good friend ,about your dreams , its like that chasing happiness, :)

I agree, chasing happiness is the true goal. However, I have come to realise that depression doesn't necessarily run away from happiness, it can also show up during your happiest moments in life. Trying to focus on the happiness and hold on to it, is just as important as searching for it and sometimes just as hard <3

@adelepazani
Would you say happiness is the goal in life?

@vimma it depends,, i think we are here to enjoy not suffering and pain, one is happiness yes , its about training the mind to search good things to help the quality of life, although pain is never apart of us , so no fight , let it be , but create positivity through your life, thats my idea.

I find it hard to believe that happiness would be just a stagnant state or a goal. I'd say it comes from succeeding in things and seeing the world + your peers in a more positive context.

For example, I find challenging myself (or going outside my comfort zone) often very pleasing. Obviously not succeeding nearly every time as I thought I would but still happy I went for it. It's never comfortable but at least I know I'm alive and it feels exciting.

When I talk about fighting depression I mean measures to turn around the negative development. And you're right, it's about creating positivity in ones life but I fail to see how the change would come on its own.
